FAQs

  1. What is the location of the Quinceañera?
The Quince will be held on the Green Acre campus at:
    61 Green Acre Dr.
    Eliot, ME 03903
  2. How do I get there?
Your GPS will be helpful. Our recommendations are:

For most folks: On I95, drive to exit 1 in Maine for Kittery. Take a left at the bottom of the exit. Within .25 miles, turn right onto South Eliot Road. Drive straight for 2 miles (pass under the I95 bridge, past the water on both sides with a marina, etc). On your left you will see a sign that says “Green Acre”. Turn in and drive to the bottom of the hill (about .2 miles). Park in the parking lot on the right and follow the “Today’s Event” signs to the Kelsey Center (Click here to see a picture of the Kelsey Center at the top of the linked page).
  3. What if there aren’t any parking spots left in the main parking area?
We are hoping that there will be space for all cars here, however, if you come and there are not any spaces left, please drive back up the hill where there are other small parking lots both to the left and to the right. There is also a strip of parking across the street from the main entrance, where you see the “Green Acre” sign.
  4. What are guest guidelines at Green Acre?
Green Acre is an environment where people come for a spiritually uplifting experience and programming in line with the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh. As such, both in compliance with civil law and principles of Bahá’í administration, it has certain rules, which the Arzú-Pantalone family kindly and firmly ask that all guests follow. Below is a basic list:

    – Tobacco free: no cigarettes, pipes, cigars, chewing tobacco or vaping are allowed
    – No use of any non-prescription drugs of any sort, including marijuana
    – No weapons
    – No pets in cars/dogs must be on a leash on campus
    – Minor children should be supervised
    – No swimming in the river as the current is very strong, and very unsafe.

  5. Is there a place for me to freshen up and change after the long drive?
Yes! There is a large restroom for females and another for males in the Kelsey Center where we are holding most of the program. You are welcome to use them to freshen up and change.
  6. Will lunch or dinner be offered?

For those arriving at 12:30 pm for the devotional program, lunch will be provided. The main meal will be burritos and chips catered by Chipotle. We will also hopefully offer a lime-marinated coleslaw as well as rice (please let us know if you would like to bring a salad/rice dish).

For those arriving at 2:45 to attend the ceremony only, there will be desserts and refreshments.
  7. I have food sensitivities/restrictions, can you take a specific order for me?

For those with dietary restrictions, it is best to bring food with you, although we will have some bean burritos.
  8. At what time should I arrive?

There are two arrival time options but we need to know which option you choose due to lunch orders. If Sarah hasn’t yet had this conversation with you, please reach out to let us know ASAP as we are gearing up to place the food order (text/call Sarah @ 860.961.3597).:

Option 1: Doors open at 12:15 p.m. for those attending the entire event starting with a welcome, a prayer devotional in which there will be singing (all can choose to listen or participate) and lunch.

Option 2: Come at 2:45 p.m. for a shorter commitment and to attend the main ceremony plus the dance if you have time.
  9. Is there anything else that you have answered on this site that I should look at?
Yes. Click on each of the following topics to go directly to the page that addresses/gives information about it.

What is a Quinceañera? And what is the concept of the age of maturity in the Baha’i Faith?
I would like to know more about Green Acre and learning opportunities, volunteer opportunities or community events, which include art openings for shows like “Migration”, the current art show, the art for which you will see in the room where we will be and in the hallway. By the way, Gordon has two pieces in this show. His style is very distinctive. See if you can find them when you come up.
    What should I wear?
When should I arrive and what is planned?
Please help me figure out what to get Tahi. (While money will help us get a few big items ie shelving and bookcase for her bedroom, she is also working on putting a registry together.)
    What is the Baha’i Faith?

Please feel free to email (spantalone@yahoo.com) or text Sarah (860.961.3597). Texting is best at the moment. She will both answer your question directly and add it to this website.
